Food industry

The food industry thinks that it’s more Sanitary to produce and package their food in a factory, than naturally produced in a natural environment by a farmer, and there are so many things I disagree about food being processed in a factory.  Such as producing and packaging food products that were contaminated with E-coli. Another thing I disagree with is that the food industry is starting to put bacteria in their food products to make them last longer. So they can make more money off of it. One more thing I disagree with is that so many factories are not properly sanitized and they are still producing and packaging food products.

There have been so many cases that have been reported of E-coli contaminated food products. In June 17, 2010 the E-coli lawsuit involved Cargill Inc and Stephanie Smith. She was a woman who contracted the E-Coli strain from eating a hamburger, which was infected with E-coli 0157:hH7. This women was seriously injured she became paralyzed and also had severe kidney damage. This poor woman’s case was settled but her life was changed for ever! And she will never be the same. Then in a article that AP published. Saying that there needs to be more testing for E-coli, then it is said that the food industry and the government focuses on testing for the most virulent strains of E-coli. That makes thousands sick each year, it is also said that they hardly ever test for six less common E-coli strains. That can cause just as much illness as the E-coli 0157:H7 strain can.

In the bacteria issue I could not find very much information on this subject, but I do know that they do put some kind of bacteria in their meats to keep them well preserved. I watched the movie we viewed in class. In the movie food Inc they showed that the food industries put some kind of bacteria and food coloring to make the product look and last longer. Also in the movie they showed that famers were giving chickens antibiotics to make them grow bigger chicken breasts. So people won’t complain about how small the chicken breasts were before. They also showed chickens dying from the antibiotics that they were given to make them grow, and in the process of the chickens passing away they were contaminating the other chickens that were in the same chicken coop as they were in.

The other disagreement I have is about sanitization in the food factories. In the slaughter  houses there is not much sanitization the cows that are waiting to be killed were walking knee high in their  own  fesses  after they were killed they got rinsed off by a water hose nothing more but water they were not properly sanitized. As they were being taken to be cut and separated they were still covered in fesses to be made into food products, like hamburger patties, steaks, and stew meat. The famers did not properly care for their animals or properly take precautions to sanitize them and themselves. So this is where there meat can be contaminated with the E-coli 0157; H7 strain.

My closing thought s about the whole situation that farmers and animal caregivers should focus more on their sanitization of their meats and other food products. That are packaged and shipped out to our shopping centers, grocery stores that end up on our families’ dinner tables. More people should focus on what they purchase to feed their families. From what believe people should try to be more organic in what they buy because when we buy organic food we know more or less where its coming from. Most organic shops are mom and pop shops that we all know of.

Christopher told Vikus that he would be back for him in three years. What do you think will happen when he comes back?

i think that by the time that he comes back i dont think he would want to return to being a human or maybe not i think he misses his family to much but if his wife has moved on by the time he comes back to help him i dont think he will change back
